Thanksgiving Weekend - Abby Style

Umm.... Wow. What a whirlwind weekend. Previous post spoke of our turkey farm visit and first hockey game, but that was just the beginning of the weekend! Here's how everything else went down, with some pictures of course!

Thanksgiving dinner was fun and festive. Friends and family gathered for an early-ish dinner for us, 5 pm. We ate early so that everyone could head out to the beach for either midnight shopping (Jae and Nadia) or early morning shopping (Our household).

Turkey day for the adults meant Abby's first solid food! NO, we did not give her turkey, gravy or pie. She got her rice cereal mixed with formula. She started out a bit slow, but got the hang of it by the end. Here is one picture, there are others on the Picasa site:

A video will be coming soon, but Anny and I are at odds as to where to host it. She' afraid of YouTube.

After dinner we loaded up the car and drove to the beach. Abby slept for the entire drive, through a diaper change, and through the night! We were to the house first, which means that we got her settled before the onslaught of family and dogs. It helped a lot.

In the morning we got Abby fed and ready to go and we were off to shopping at the Outlet Stores. She was a good sport - awake for an hour then slept for a while, all in the Bjorn.

For a couple of weeks Abby has been reaching her finger into her mouth to the point of gagging, but we have not seen any other signs of teeth. Aunt Pam suggested that maybe we should be looking somplace other than the standard two front teeth, and we laughed it off. Until Saturday morning. Abby was cranky and fussy, only happy while eating. We opened up her mouth and sure enough, there is a toothbud on the left side of her mouth.

I have tried but cannot get a picture of it because of the placement. The above is of her getting SOME relief from the annoyance. She's become a pro at this already. On THIS chart, it would be about tooth number 21 or 22.

Hopefully it will come through completely very soon and we can move to the traditional front teeth.

Overall it was a busy and fun filled weekend. :o)

We're using Vimeo.com for video - it's not wide open to the public the way that YouTube is. I'll post one to our site soon and you can see...
